451 - AS III.47. Elevation of an unidentified public building. Drawn by an unidentified draughtsman to a scale of just over 7 ft to an inch. Brown ink over pencil, shaded with grey wash. 190 x 319 mm. Watermark: fleur-de-lis. Inscription: The Grand ffront Extends in ye Whole Length 76 foot. Endorsed in pencil: 2d / 29.

Note to 451: This may be a alternative design for the Great Kitchen built to the W of St James's Palace in 1717–19 (HKW 5.240–41), as suggested by the Wren Society. The façade is compatible with such a function, and the draughtsmanship suggests a late date.
